A pesar de que desde esta semana se pueda escuchar en una web específica, gracias por la información Sheilie, no fue hasta anoche en el programa Euroclub de Europa FM cuando Virginia Maestro, Labuat, estrenó oficialmente The Time Is Now.
Recordemos que es el primer single de su segundo disco titulado Dulce Hogar, a la venta el 29 de marzo.
Anoche no sólo estrenaron completo este single, a la venta digitalmente el 8 de febrero, sino que tuvieron en directo a Virginia quien comentó entre otras muchas que se trata de un disco con canciones propias, reflejo de sus influencias y de la música que siempre ha escuchado.
Como ejemplo, comentó que en su iPod podemos encontrar temas de Melody Gardot, Janis Joplin, Al Green, Otis Reading o Katie Melua.
He de reconocer que me ha sorprendido, y gratamente.
Aunque el rollo retro pop, a lo Lily Allen, Eliza Doolitle o Kate Nash, no es nuevo, sin duda en el panorama nacional sí que es novedad.
Parte de culpa tiene Iñaki García, anteriormente con gente como Miguel Bosé, Luz Casal o El Canto Del Loco, que es quien firma la producción del disco.
